GIS Programmer, Denver Colorado
Provide supporting GIS web applications design and development for various client projects. Main responsibilities include requirements analysis; detailed front-end and back-end design, development, and unit testing; and creating project documentation. Developer will also perform functional analysis and develop technical solutions and recommendations to the client. Additional responsibilities include existing applications’ enhancement, trouble-shooting, and defect fixing in response to incoming change requests and problem reports.
The individual will work on and solve complex problems, which require in-depth evaluation of various factors, create application’s design specifications based on business and technical requirements, and develop complex software applications as part of a team as well as individually. GIS and web technologies, including J2EE, are the main software technologies to use for this work. The individual will also provide guidance to other team members in web development area. A candidate must demonstrate reasoning abilities to actively participate in technical discussions with the team and client and have a good knowledge of best industry practices and the latest technologies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. 4 years of experience will substitute in lieu of degree.
Required Technical Skills:
•At least 5 years experience in full software development life cycle.
•Strong Web development and GIS background.
•Strong experience with spatial data processing
•At least 4-5 years experience with ArcGIS Desktop
•At least 3 years of progressive Web development experience.
•At least 3 years of strong J2EE experience.
•At least 2 years of progressive programming experience with ArcGIS Server REST API.
•Working experience with GeoServer and OpenLayers.
•Experience with Oracle and ArcSDE
•Experience writing SQL statements
Desired Technical Skills:
J2EE frameworks, such as Spring, Hibernate, and others. Experience with Oracle Spatial.
